🎓🌍 The project “” offered this opportunity to a new generation—young people who learn, collaborate, imagine solutions, and boldly step toward a sustainable future.
📌 Implemented by:
-
Scout Troop “Krste Jon” – Struga
-
Center for Sustainable Community Development – Debar
-
Regional Green Center – Ohrid,
with support from Civica Mobilitas and the Government of Switzerland.
🎯 Focus: Children and youth from Struga, Ohrid, and Debar, overcoming the barriers of age, language, and municipal borders to build a shared network of knowledge, empathy, and action.
🧠 One of the key activities:
A two-day training in Struga, where 30 young participants learned the basics of project work:
-
analyzing calls for proposals
-
defining objectives
-
creating a logical framework and budgeting.
👧 “It was so interesting—we socialized, worked in teams, and gained experiences I never expected from everyday life,” said Mina Kralj (13) from Struga.
⛺️ After the training came a five-day climate camp, where young participants developed concrete project ideas for implementation in their own municipalities—ranging from wildlife protection to recycling and local awareness campaigns.
👩🎓 “It was the first time I learned how to write a project idea,” said Jana Tanaskoska from the village of Kalishta.
👦 “The camp helped me understand more about myself and build confidence,” added Redon Jajaga (17) from Debar.
🎨 The youth drew their visions for a better world—and presented them with courage and clarity.
📅 The highlight came on June 21 – Lake Ohrid Day, with a regional event held on the boat “Galeb”, bringing together:
-
scientists
-
civil society
-
institutions
-
youth
-
and their families.
🎤 “The youth weren’t just participants—they spoke, proposed ideas, and were truly heard,” said Dušica Boeva, aquaculture expert.
“Every drop we lose today may be irreplaceable tomorrow,” emphasized Dr. Orhideja Tasevska from the Hydrobiological Institute of Ohrid.
💬 “We started with school workshops and ended with a powerful movement. Young people are ready—all we need to do is give them space,” noted Ana Bojadzieva, coordinator at the Regional Green Center – Ohrid.
🌱 The project “Let’s Learn About Climate Change” built bridges between generations and communities. It gave youth the knowledge, confidence, and real support to bring their ideas to life.
🚤 And in the end, on a boat floating in front of the old town of Ohrid, under the open sky and above the calm lake, there they were—young people laughing, presenting, and dreaming of a better world.
🌍 The future starts with them.
