Activity Title: Film Screening within the Mentorship Program “CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AS A DRIVER OF DEVELOPMENT”

Activity Description

The Center for Sustainable Community Development – Debar successfully organized a film screening prepared within the mentorship program “CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AS A DRIVER OF DEVELOPMENT.” The activity was held on October 27, 2025, at “28 Nëntori” High School in Debar, with the participation of around 50 young people, teachers, and civil society representatives.

The screened film is part of the project “Creativity as a Driver of Sustainable Development and Innovation in the Region,” aimed at promoting creative entrepreneurship, innovation, and cross-regional cooperation among youth. The video featured footage of the work process of the participants involved in the mentorship activities under the GROWTH (Generating Real Opportunities through Work, Talent & Hustle) project.

This project is implemented in partnership with:

  • Municipality of Nikšić (Montenegro),

  • Municipality of Knjaževac (Serbia),

  • Trebinje Development Agency – TREDEA (Bosnia and Herzegovina),

with the support of the Western Balkans Fund (WBF).


Activity Objectives

  • To raise awareness about the potential of creative industries for local and regional economic development.

  • To encourage young people to develop innovative and sustainable business models.

  • To facilitate knowledge and experience sharing among youth from different Western Balkan communities.


Results

  • Participants gained insight into opportunities offered by the creative economy as a promising development sector.

  • An open discussion followed the screening, during which the youth expressed interest in new creative projects and regional cooperation.

  • The activity contributed to strengthening the motivation of youth to approach entrepreneurship as a creative and collaborative process.


Conclusion

The activity was positively evaluated by participants and contributed to strengthening the culture of innovation and creativity among young people in the municipality of Debar. The Center for Sustainable Community Development will continue implementing initiatives that support the development of creative and entrepreneurial skills among youth.
